Color, color, color - fiestas (parties) use muchos colores (many colors) to evoke tropical flowers, sunny beaches, spicy foods, and lush forests. To make your party festive and authentic while keeping it inviting and fun for little ones, use some of the following decorations to spice up the event.

  • Choose balloons and streamers in cheerful blues, hot pinks, sunny yellows, and lime greens.
  • Place strings of colored lights throughout the party area.
  • Find traditional sarapes (colorfully striped blankets) and use them for tablecloths or draped across chair backs.
  • Pot some colorful flowers and plants and use as centerpieces: Gerber daisies, geraniums, lilies, and sunflowers would work well; our printable flowers complement the real ones nicely!
  • Purchase new terra-cotta pots in various sizes, clean them well, and use them to serve chips or to show off a colorful collection of lemons and/or limes.
  • Decorate your guests! Assemble your party sombreros (hats) before the party and hand one to each child as they arrive.
  • Assemble our piñata and hang it prominently in the party area.
  • Hang our fiesta flags (party flags) - also known as papel picado or "punched paper" banners.
  • Print out our Handy Manny finger puppets and give them a place of honor on tables, especially where kids can put them to use and "let their fingers do the walking."
  • Assemble our paper flowers and use them to decorate the party area.
