Kids relish being involved in all aspects of party planning, so put them to work creating beautiful nature-oriented tabletop decorations and centerpieces. Have them:
Help a grown-up put together the autumn leaves wreath that a grown-up has downloaded and cut out to be assembled.
String together the banner letters that a grown-up has downloaded, cut out and hole punched.
Arrange mini pumpkins, colorful squash, and Indian corn in small groupings on the table and in gathering areas.
Head outdoors to be Super Sleuth nature detectives and gather especially beautiful leaves, seed pods, and acorns. Let them add these items to the table decorations or have them create collages that you can hang throughout the party area.
Fill paper cups with crayons and help a grown-up cover a card table with brown craft paper to serve as the kids' table and "activity station."
Make a sign that says "Seat of Honor." This seat will be for "special guest" grown-ups who take turns throughout the meal sitting with the children at their fun-filled table and guiding their activities.
