I Love You Day is a very special day for bonding and spending quality time together. By engaging each other during a day full of these games and activities, not only will you get to know each other even better than you already do, but you will also share lots of laughs and lasting memories to remember for days to come.
Activities:
To start your spa off right, give mom her book of coupons and let her cash in on a couple right away.
Have fun giving her a facial or back rub, combing her hair, or soaking her feet. Make sure to have some homemade recipes on hand!
Finally, get to know mommy a little better with our special questionnaire.
Pooh, Tigger, Darby, and Roo are always game for checking out the goings-on in nature, especially when it's springtime and everything outdoors wears its best colors and smells. Pull mom up from her spa chair and head outdoors for a walk through your backyard, down the road, or to the park!
Optional: Bring along a camera and preserve memories both of what you find and of your special one-on-one time with mom.
Suggestions of what to look for:
- Pretty leaves
- Smooth rocks
- Colorful fallen flower petals
- Twigs
Choose one of your favorite pretty items found on your Super Sleuth Nature Scavenger Walk and keep it close to your heart with this activity!
What you need:
- Rigatoni pasta (can be painted with poster paints beforehand)
- Clear contact paper
- Small flower or leaf (something fairly flat)
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- Yarn
Directions:
- Press nature item between two pieces of contact paper and cut into heart shape.
- Punch a hole at the top of the heart and hang from pasta necklace with yarn.
- String pasta onto yarn in any pattern you choose, adding nature heart so that it hangs in the center of the necklace.
By using the twigs you found on your Super Sleuth Nature Scavenger Walk, you can make a simple stick photo frame that mom can hang up at home or in her office. Better yet, choose a photo of the two of you on the nature walk and let it be the centerpiece to your frame!
What you need:
- Plenty of lightweight, relatively straight twigs
- A 4"x6" or 5"x7" mat board pre-cut to hold a photo (available at craft and framing stores)
- White craft glue
